Nice little mtb ride in China Camp State Park today.  It’s about a 45 minute drive up 101 from where I live in San Fran…  several miles past the Marin Headlands, just northeast of San Rafael:

Thirteen miles of very easy singletrack, a little too easy actually (finally feeling better after a week of thinking I was getting sick, and really wanted to sweat it all out), but it was a phenomenal day with relatively little traffic on the trails so I have no complaints.

As it seems with many of the rides in the North Bay area it wasn’t too hard to end up at the beach.

I chilled for a few minutes and snacked at a picnic table near the old China Camp village that the state park system maintains for visitors.  I was the oddball at the beach among the families and teenage couples who had driven down to laze the day away–it definitely turned some heads when I rode right out on to the beach, unclipped, and laid my bike down on the rocks and sand.  I just smiled and chugged from my camelback.

Super nice day… great way to exhale the work week.  Have a great holiday weekend, everyone!
