A Skate in the Sun. February 12, 2008
I woke up this morning with a long list of to-do’s patiently waiting for me. First order of business everyday, without exception, is to start the Tea Kettle. Nothing gets done before I brew up a fresh batch of the Yerb. I think if my house was on fire I would probably brew up a freshy before I actually exited the building.
My good friend Jay placed a timely call just after I took my first sip of the liquid gold and insisted that I go Skate Ski with him, I thought, “to-do’s, deadlines, people counting on me, hmmm……?” “Ill be over in 30 minutes”. We jammed up to Vallecito lake and pounded out a couple hours on the skinny skis. The highlight of the ski wasnt the near cloudless sky or perfect skate track, it was Jay performing a spectacular, almost cartoon-ish type crash that left me in stitches. Luckily, the only human within 5 miles of us at the time, was standing within 20 feet to also witness the crash, even she said “wow” and doubled over laughing. An immediate bond was established between she and I
When we wrapped up the skate session I immediately jammed home feeling the pressure to accomplish the days tasks before the close of business hours. When I arrived back at the house the to-do’s were all still waiting for me, as expected, and all got done without a hitch. What a great way to spend the morning!!!!
