Catch ya in December… November 15, 2008
I’m burying myself for the next few weeks in some major Grad School work so tune in later to see if I make it out alive when I’m finished with my first Qrt. at JFKU! I’m using tons of my newly learned techniques like relaxation exercises such as Circle Breathing (article by my Professor Tonya Johnston) and Imagery… of me making all A’s on my exams and papers
(another article written by my Professor Karlene Sugarman)
I think we all use mental skills but most of us are unaware of our self-talk or motivation factors and how we all need to focus on the power of being positive and how to turn negative thoughts, images, and feeling into something that is positive, powerful and inspiring… only then can we truly live life with passion.
Here’s a great quote I read today, “In 30 years of practice, I’ve seen only one universal truth: No one needs to be coached to have negative thoughts.”
-Judith Sills, PH.D.
So true, now to pave the way on the importance of mental training for athletes… Sport is 90% mental, and I’m standing by that fact.
be back soon…
